Kids Comments

"Mom, make sure when you get home you tell us if the baby is healthy" -Xavier's comment right before I left for an OB appointment.

"He either has chickens or put too many eggs in his cart"- Leia's theories on where a man at church got the extra brown eggs he gave to us.

"Dear Lord, please allow us to be able to go to Disney World someday" - Xavier and Leia, every time they pray.

The Mama Files: Mama is...

...trying very hard not to throw a temper tantrum about her brand new laptop not working. Especially since she's been very careful with it!

I saw the baby today! I guess the placenta was between the baby and the Doppler so my OB couldn't find the heart beat. It looks like a real baby now and it's legs where kicking like crazy! Three weeks until the "big" sono. Which won't be so big since we won't be finding out the sex, but it'll still be fun to see *her* again!

I found a new consignment shop on my way home. I'm not really sure what I think of it. I found some great maternity stuff (a pair of really great jeans NWT for $12, and a Gap dress for $12) and a cute unisex sleeper. But the store smelled funny and it was pretty disorganized so it was really hard to look. But her prices were really cheap (she can't be making much money from things).

I'm trying The Baby Name Wizard (book) to find the "perfect" little girl's name. So far from all the name books I've read, which has been quite a few. They all agree that Marc's favorite girl's name is "so cute, blah, blah, blah". But I still can't get over my reservations about it. I was thinking about what my naming criteria is and it was surprisingly easy to come up with 12 stipulations (FYI the name I have for a boy doesn't fit into ALL of these, AND Marc's criteria isn't necessarily the same as mine).

1. Blends with my other kids' names
2. Fits with our last name
3. Not in the top 100 baby names in the US
4. Not too "out there"
5. Pretty/ Strong (pretty for a girl, strong for a boy)
6. Works for a child or adult
7. Starts with a different letter than my other kids
8. Has a nice meaning ( I guess that omits Jezebel) :-)
9. No common nicknames
10. No weird initials
11. Easy to pronounce (spelled phonetically)
12. No weird spellings

and that's it! See I'm not picky! :-) Please accept my apology if you're sick of hearing about baby names. I'm sick of it too!

The Hazards of Elastic

While raking and picking up sticks today in my yard. I felt something prickly in the leg (above the knee) of my pants. Upon further investigation I found a large, dried up, brittle twig. How it got in my pants is yet to be determined.

The End
I seem to be having phantom baby kicks to the ribs today (the baby isn't big enough or high enough for that yet).

If you think of it today and tomorrow please pray for my sister in law. She's almost 39 weeks pregnant and is getting induced tomorrow (if she doesn't go into labor today) because her baby is HUGE! They won't even give her a weight estimate because he's so big. Thanks. And YIKES!

Dear Viewers,

I guess it's either feast or famine with me. I either blog your eyes out, or completely ignore you for days. Sorry about that. Life sometimes gets in the way. Tons of stuff has been going on, but nothing really blog worthy. (But yet I'm going to blog about it anyway. Go figure!)
I went to a couple family bridal showers. Had some nice weather. Feel like I'm on the verge of finding the "perfect" little girl's name. Deep cleaned my bathroom. Have cravings for Chinese but still have a little will power and won't indulge because the calories are horrific. Is having second thoughts about not finding out the gender of the baby. Is loving the baby boy selection of clothes that is out there right now. Has a couple sewing projects that need to be finished. Is noticing that our youngest is a tiny version of my husband more and more everyday. Have no patience for the dog. Had an Amish horse, buggy, and man in my driveway when I got home one day. Love, love, love, reading fiction! Is the worst Twilight fan on earth (I buy used books, don't have time to go to the movies, rents movies dirt cheap from netflix, and critique and blow holes in the story lines when talking to my geeky sci-fi enthusiast husband about them), sorry Bella and Edward. Is amazed by my husband's teaching skills. Had a couple sister-in-laws over for a play date. Got a bunch of free clothes for my kids at our local thrift store (NWT Lands End Oxford for Xavier, super cute like new Gap shirt for Gaius). Wrangled 2 hyper 3 year olds, semi-successfully.

And that's my weekend in a nutshell.

P.S. Kudos to you if you made it through this whole entry!

A Three Year Old's State of Mind

Gaius-"Mommy, I want to marry you"

Me-"Sorry bud, but daddy already beat you to it"

Gaius-"He can marry your toes and I'll marry your fingers"

*hm...not sure how that would work.*

The Mama Files

It's haircut day! Whoohoo! I so neglect my poor hair. Well actually it's more I neglect my hair dresser, sorry Jill.
