I've always wished...

...for a child with black hair. One would think that it wouldn't be too hard for us to get considering Marc has black hair. Which by the way is 1 of my all time favorite physical attributes of his (his long, thick eyelashes are the second). But so far they've all come out with black but than it turned to my color. I'm giving it 1-2 more tries and then I'm giving up.

Hair cut day!

Here we are before (looking a little crazed):

And here we are after (Gaius didn't get a hair cut, he just wanted to join in on the fun):

AAAAHHHH!!!! That's better!

The Big Birthday Bash!

So it turns out that moms don't sprout more hands as they have more children. So all my great expectations of delightful pictures of "The Monkey Party" actually ended up being a handful of mediocre pics. The good news is it went really well and I think everyone had fun.
The Cake: We had a brunch so for the cake we had monkey bread. Which everyone loved. I over heard one of our little friends ask her mom if she could have more "monkey meat".

Present time! The wheat-free, sugar-free, seriously good cake!
P.S. We are party people!

Leia Says:

"Psalms 1-2-5: Give yourself a lot of of heart, and give your heart to Jesus" ~While reading a book titled Planent Parenthood. FYI: not a christian book.
I would also like to mention that Leia doesn't know how to read.

Mama Files:

Once I read- "women just want things to work". I am so one of those women. When I go to use something I need it just to do it's job without any tinkering.
The washing machine isn't working again, this is our 3rd one we've had since we moved into the Gingerbread house 5 years ago. I don't think it's anything major, probably just the pipes are frozen (It was -14° outside when i woke up this morning) and the belt broke again. Put still, I'm not happy, the laundry is already overflowing the hampers.
So i guess the laundry is going to pile up. At least until it warms up and Marc has time to mess around it. To occupy my time I'll just daydream about these bad boys:

Thinking in Themes

Lately I've been asked to do some decorating and this got me thinking. I am such a theme thinker. If someone can give me a theme I can usually come up with something. It's just how my mind works. I have 3 events I'm decorating for in the near future, so my mind/creativity is going about a mile a minute. I thought maybe my bloggy friends would like to see some of my "work", here's some pictures from a wedding i did last fall:

This was actually extremely fun to decorate for. It was my first western themed wedding (and not a daisy in sight!!!). My decorating tends to be on the simpler side, I love clean lines and can't stand clutter. However, because the front of our church is so large and empty I really have to put a lot into it so that it shows up. Man I love doing weddings. It's just something I really enjoy. I love taking basically nothing and turning it into something beautiful.

My BIL Nate just got engaged. I hope I get to decorate for them....we shall see.
