The disgusting orange carpet is out! Unfortunately it's just a boring sub floor underneath. I was kind of hoping for planks so it wouldn't be so dull, oh well. It'll be perfect when we put in laminate flooring later! I do actually have an idea for painting it! But it would require an extra 24 hours of drying time, which we don't have (boo!). I think I might wait and do it when we get back from camping. This coming week looks to be completely nuts now. I wasn't actually planning on re-doing the floor this weekend. But...Someone else had other plans. I AM happy to see the orange carpet go! It just puts me a day behind where I was hoping to be this week. *sigh* Let the craziness ensue.
I hope y'all are ready for some before and after pics! Cause I'm sure I'll be ready to show you some after this weekend! Here's a little before shot to whet your appetite! Notice the half ripped off border! I usually don't remember the "before" until I'm half way into a project. Oh well. Better late than never.
She is definitely not her brother. With Xavier, when he has a loose tooth, he'll work at it as soon as it's a tiny bit loose and have that sucker out by the end of the day. Leia patiently waited for the big tooth to come in and gently push the baby tooth out! She also wants "the tooth fairy to leave a prize all wrapped up with a bow under her pillow".
*sigh* So much for just throwing a dollar under her pillow! Women!!!! ;-)
...but a little bad. I found a set of these: for $2 at a garage sale today! I did so well with not buying any gender specific stuff...until the last sale. But I ask you, what's a mom to do with all this cute girlie stuff out there?
I haven't worked my my border all week. I literally haven't had time. And it's driving me crazy, because I hate to leave a project half finished.
This week has been nuts!
I had this "great" idea of doing a photography project for my art class which has turned into HOURS of photo editing for me. I despise photo editing. But since working on our church's website I have gotten to know my photo editing program better and better. Which I guess is a plus! So lately my life consists of sitting here cropping pictures. That is, when I'm not at a little league baseball game or practice freezing my butt off.
I can't even believe it's Friday already.
I'm thinking May is going to fly by faster than April did. Which means I'll be 1 month closer to seeing my sweet little baby!
Weekends are, in general, very hectic for us. I took a 3 day break from scraping border to go to Little League opening day,
finish the baby's quilt,
work on our church's new website,
get groceries (which requires a 45 minute drive to a decent size super market),
and attend church.
However, here's a couple breakthroughs from this weekend
a. In my mind we're set on the baby's name (both boy and girl)! I haven't told Marc what the girl's name is yet though! ;-)
b. Our stack of baby supplies is growing quite nicely, I got a really cute baby book! And the quilt is cuter than I imagined!
c. Wowsers! My belly is getting big! This is seriously a revelation to me! Normally I'm a very observant person, but I guess that doesn't apply to my own appearance. My belly button is really starting to flatten out.
d. Xavier and Leia felt the baby kick last night (during church)
e. The weather is HOT! Which I sort of like at the moment since it'll warm up the lake for camping in June.
and that's it!
Hopefully by next weekend I can report that the border is completely down. And my annual yard sale-ing day with my mom was very successful!
