Hold Your Horses!!!

Goodness gracious! This girl will not ease up! This year she has accomplished too SO much!
Reading, riding a two wheeler (almost), tying her shoes, becoming a Christian, and NOW!!! A loose tooth! I'm not sure my heart can take all these milestones all stacked up at once. SLOW down honey! You're killing me here!

Day 2...

...of border scraping.
I'm taking my time with it. Mostly because it's tedious, arm breaking, stool climbing work. I don't think I've held my arm above my head for this long since my "CBC Puppet Team" days.
The border is coming down and after fighting with it for a half hour yesterday. I finally smartened up and Googled (have i mentioned how much I love the internet?) methods on how to to get it off easily. So here's hoping today runs a lot smoother!

SCORE!

I should not be this happy that baseball practice is cancelled! However, now instead of either standing out in the cold or sitting in the van for 2 hours. I can now work some more on the bedding set. Right now I'm at the monotonous job of making 14 ties for the bumper. Not my favorite!

Remember when...

Gaius and Leia have a "secret" handshake (it's actually more of a high-five type thing). Whenever they are excited they give each other a thumbs up sign then link their thumbs together and say "Meep Meep Meep". It's really cute, but it's not really something you can catch on film (or digitally) so I'm hoping I can just remember it for always.

The Little Things

I recently bought a set of these little buggers just to see if they lived up to their promise of softening clothes and reducing each load's drying time. I haven't really noticed the difference in softness but it did however cut the drying time down by 20 minutes each load. Which is, on average, a whole hour of each day's laundry drying time. I don't really know what that translates into for our electric bill. But so far for my $3.99 purchase, I'm pretty impressed!

Out of the Mouth of Babes

Here is a conversation an almost 4 year old and I had today. Please note that this child comes from a very devoted family, that takes very good care of their children. That's why it's so comical.

E-Aunt Korleen, guess what I want to be when I grow up?

Me- What?

E- A silly parent. Who drinks coffee all day and doesn't listen to their child.

Me- Um, yeah that is pretty silly.

Inquiring Minds Would Like to Know.

I was reading this yahoo.com article a few minutes ago.

What do you think? Do you find it completely disgusting to not use detergent at all? I don't know, I'm kind of curious about it. I think the first few times it would be okay since there is probably some soap residue left on them anyway. I already separate and bleach underwear, because of a different article I read about bacteria living in your washing machine. So that would take care of that concern. Hm....I might try it. At least every OTHER time.

Progress Report

I have [almost] all the fabric, half of the bumper and the quilt top finished! I'm still deciding what exactly I want to do for the crib skirt. It's still going to be months before you'll see it in all of it's splendor. Since I don't plan on putting the crib up until August. But, it's a start at least!

I Found Them!

Notice how the baby is posing already, with her hand under her chin? At least I think it's a hand, or else the baby has a wattle. Perhaps I need to look into this. :-)
Marc still thinks it's a boy because the baby was getting really annoyed by being prodded and it reminded him of Gaius. And I still think it's a girl because *she* is very quiet. I can barely feel her most of the time. OH! And remember a few weeks ago how I said that it felt like I was getting kicked in the ribs? Well it turns out she is up very high, so maybe I'm not crazy.

Thinking....

We stuck to our guns! Well I stuck to mine anyway! When the ultrasound tech. asked if we wanted to know the gender Marc turned to me and said "Do we???". Even though he told me on the car ride to the office that he didn't want to know (the stinker!). We were undecided on finding out yesterday. Than last night I had a dream that it was a boy and I was really disappointed. So my subconscious made my mind up for me. Because I know if I wait, than by 39 weeks I'll be so anxious to have the baby I won't care if it's a boy or a girl. So for now I guess I'll be shopping in the yellow department!

I swear pregnancy kills brain cells. Somewhere between my in-laws house and home I've misplaced my sono pictures. I hope they are in Marc's car and not on the ground somewhere. Goodness! Klutziness AND absentmindedness, I'm not sure I'm going to make it through this pregnancy alive.

Eureka!

So today while I was teaching Xavier how to hit a ball out of the air, I came to a realization. Perhaps I'm better equip to mother boys. I mean I'd LOVE to have a little sister for Leia, and dress another baby all up in pink. But honestly, I love little boys! Their antics crack me up, and I love the fact that you can just tell them how it is and they accept it (most of the time). I would LOVE to "have a whole baseball team" (well maybe just the infield). Not to mention the cattiness, cliques, and general drama that comes along with girls. Yikes! Not looking forward to going through that again. I'll leave you today with a new favorite quote.

"I'm a weird girl. Because, I like to do things that boys like to do"-Leia (who also loves to wear dresses, make up, and anything girlie)

*Disclaimer: Your views and opinions definitely don't have to reflect mine. This is just one "weird girl's" opinion. PLUS I'm conditioning myself for the chance that this baby could be a boy. So that I'll be okay with it. :-)* <-----Ha! that little smiley looks like it has a goatee! (Sorry, had to throw that in). The End.

So! Excited!

Leia asked Jesus to save her from her sins yesterday! We've been talking about it for a few months. But she just wasn't ready. It was really hard to just sit back and wait for her to sort it all out. But I'm so glad she finally did!

The gender poll----------->

I love the fact that 5 out of 6 of you agree with me and think it's a girl! I was going to make a big production out of it and list all of my symptoms and post a picture. Then let you cross reference all the old wives tales, and your own experiences, etc. BUT, once again, time got away from me, so I just threw the poll up and didn't say a thing about it. I'm so happy that you all found it on your own, and put in your 2 cents! WAY TO GO!
Oh and by the way, I'm getting HUGE!!!!!! It was kind of a shock to me the other day when I saw a glimpse of myself in the full length mirror. EEEK! I'm just bracing myself for the other half of the pregnancy! Marc is just happy I haven't resorted to using a million pillows to sleep yet...trust me, that day is quickly approaching! :-)
Gaius finally decided he likes sledding...

...unfortunately it was AFTER all the snow had melted.

Look what I found on Amazon, dirt cheap! If it's a girl I'll have to make her a green and white one of these to go with it!

P.S. I'm seriously have second thoughts about not finding out the gender.

Mama's New Best Friend (well other than Daddy)

From another mom's recommendation I ordered these from Tupperware. I've gotta tell you I'm in LOVE! It's all the spill proof convenience of a sippy without the baby stigma! Plus they're super handy in the car! They come in packs of 4 and wouldn't you know it. That's exactly how many kids we have! Well almost! Perfect!

Not Really in a Bloggy Mood.

However, Friday night Leia was in a *froggy mood*. Here's some of the stuff she sampled at a Chinese restaurant:

Squid
Crab legs
Frog legs

I can't believe she was willing to try all of it. She loved the crab legs, sort of liked the squid, and didn't like the frog legs (which I didn't like either, so I don't blame her). I have to admit I'm pretty impressed!

Get a load of this!

In NY!!!! I am slightly worried that this is 1 of 2 warnings. 1. That we're going to have an extremely hot summer (and I'll be 8-9 months pregnant by then). 2. This is the nicest weather we're going to get all summer (and it's not even close to summer yet).
Time to go work on my tan!

The Hazards of having a Little Brother.

After I got my kids breakfast this morning, I ran down cellar to quickly throw a load of wash in. When I returned, this was the conversation. Please keep in mind that Roo is our dog.

Gaius- "Mom Roo licked it! Roo licked it!"

Me- "Roo licked what?"

Gaius- "Roo licked my pizza"

Xavier- "WHAT?!!!"

Me- "What's wrong?"

Leia- "Gaius gave Xavier his leftover pizza that Roo licked"

Xavier- (with only one bite of crust left) "Ew!!! That is so gross"

Enjoy this bright sunshiny day!
